Sebastian Alturck-Carlos
Noah Amundson

This is Noah's second year on the OE Track and Field team and he has been throwing javelin. Besides track, Noah is in Fishing Club and played football at Olathe East for four years. After graduation, he will attend Kansas State University where he will study Nuclear Engineering. Favorite memory: "After KC Relays this season I tried to convince Coach Thuston to let me run the 200 in the sprinter medley. Thuston was lame and would not let me so I asked Coach Daniels if I could run the 4x4. He and Coach Greer said they might let me run if I agreed to warm-up with the 4x4 runners. After the warm-up I could not feel my legs so I gave in and did not run the 4x4." Advice to underclassmen: "Have fun and enjoy every moment in track because they only last so long."

Amauri Blake

This is Amauri's fourth year on the OE Track and Field team. Her events include: 100m hurdles, 100m and 4 x 100m relay. Besides track, Amauri is in the Future Educators 21st Century Academy. After graduation, she will head to Johnson County Community College where she will major in Sociology. Amauri's future career plans are to become a social worker and work towards a license in cosmetology. Favorite memory: Placing 4th with my 4x1 team at State 2021 Advice to underclassmen: "Go hard in practice and make the most of every moment. This sport is fun so have fun."

Scott Boyack

This is Scott's second year on OE Track and Field team. His events include the 800m and 1600m. Scott is also a member of cross country, marching band and wind ensemble. Upon graduation, Scott will serve a 2-year church mission after which he will begin his studies at BYU with an emphasis in pre-med. His goal is to become an ER doctor! Favorite memory: Getting to know and hanging out with different members of the team. Advice to underclassmen: "Try hard and be kind to others."

Aaliyah Chapple

Aaliyah is a four-year member of OE Track and Field. She participates in discus. Besides track, Aaliyah is involved in orchestra and Black Student Union. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Kansas to major in nursing. After college, Aaliyah hopes to have her BSN license and become a travel nurse. Favorite memory: The last day of practice before the season got cancelled from covid. We did a throw off to see if we had to do extra conditioning and luckily we didn’t but it was a really fun practice and brought the team together one last time.

Miya Fletcher

This is Miya's 2nd year on OE Track and Field. Her events include: 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m and 100m hurdles. Besides track, Miya is involved in Design Academy, soccer, STUCO, Young Allies, NHS, Art NHS and theatre! After graduation, Miya will attend the University of San Francisco where she plans to major in Environmental Science. Her goal after college is to become an Environmental Scientist. Favorite Memory: State Advice to underclassmen: "Try as many events as you can, you don't know what you could be good at!"

Luke Jenkins

This is Luke’s fourth year as part of the track and field team. He participates in the 4x400, 4x800, 800, mile and 2-mile. In addition to track Luke is involved in NHS, Civic Leadership program, and cross country. He enjoys drumming and playing the guitar in his spare time as well as traveling. After graduation Luke will attend Pitt State University where he will run track and XC and study Political Science. Favorite memory: Running under 8 minutes in the 4x800. Advice to underclassmen: “Don’t get injured.”

Luke Nelson

This is Luke's 4th year on the Olathe East track and field team. His events include: 800, 3200, 1600 and 4 x 800. Besides track, Luke is involved with OE Cross Country, Civic Leadership, Youth Court and Church Youth Group. After graduation, Luke will continue his academic career at Washburn University where he will major in business. He will continue running to stay active in his spare time! Luke plans to continue on to Law School to become a Defense Attorney for criminal cases. Favorite Memory: Running a 5:08 mile at the end of my junior year season. Advice to underclassmen: "Surround yourself with people who have Dreams, Desires, and Ambition; They’ll help you push for, and realize your own dreams. I will always think back and be grateful for the Olathe East Hawks."

Jamyla Noel

As a four-year member of OE Track and Field, Jamyla's event is javelin. Besides track and field, she is also involved in Black Student Union. After high school, Jamyla will attend Harris Stowe State University to study Business Management. After college, she would like to work toward owning/managing her own business. Favorite memory: "My favorite memory is running in a throwers relay after meets." Advice to underclassmen: "Stay consistent and work for what you want!"

Elvis Onyinkwa

Elvis has been a member of Olathe East Track team for two years. His events include 4x800, 1600, and the 800. Elvis has previously participated in OE cross country and he is also a member of OE orchestra. After he graduates Elvis will attend the University of Kansas where he will study aerospace engineering. Favorite memory: Competing with my teammates. Advice to underclassmen: “Surround yourself with people who challenge you to be a better person/athlete.” 

Travis Onyinkwa
Travis is a three-year member of the OE track and field team. His events include the 4x800m, 1600m, 800m, and 4x400m. Travis is also a member of the OE Cross Country team and Orchestra. After graduation Travis will attend the University of Kansas where he will major in mechanical engineering. Favorite memory: Watching my teammates make personal records and motivate each other to become better athletes. Advice for underclassmen: "Motivate each other, perform with great passion and enthusiasm in your events, and have fun."
Jack Perez
Whitney Post

Whitney joined the OE track team her junior year. Her main event is the 800m, but she also runs the 4x800, 1600, and 4x400. Besides track, she is also involved with Cross country, Student Council exec board treasure, FCA Leader and NHS. In the fall, Whitney plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University and Major in Art Education with a Minor in Coaching. She will also continue her athletic career as she joins the Cross Country and Track teams at NWM! After college, Whitney would like to become a high school art teacher and coach track or cross country after school. (And when she can...travel around national parks during the summers!) Favorite memory: Getting 3rd at State with the Girls 4x800 team last year (Melody, Meredith, and Rachel). Advice to underclassmen: "If there is something you want to achieve or have a goal, go after it and don’t let your mind or anyone limit your abilities. Also take in every moment because each day and every opportunity are a gift that will only happen once; so, don’t blink."

Nick Slinker

Nicholas is a four-year member of OE Track and Field. His events include the 800m and 400m. Besides track, Nicholas spent three years on the OE Soccer team and played club soccer. After graduation, he will head to Kansas State University to study computer science. After college, Nicholas hopes to pursue a career in cyber security for the FBI. Favorite memory: Breaking the “barrier” at Barrier Breakers by 0.01 seconds. Advice to underclassmen: "Train during preseason."

Ryan Spaeth
Carter Stanley

Carter is a four-year member of OE Track and Field. His events include 400, 800, 4 x 800 and 4 x 400m. Besides track, Carter is a member of OE Cross Country team, NHS and Hawk Leaders. After graduation, he plans to continue his education at K-State where he will major in biology for pre-dental. His goal is to become an Endodontist. Favorite Memory: Playing Brawlhalla at the state track meet freshmen year. Advice to underclassmen: "Work hard and the results will follow."

Isaac Thompson

Isaac has been a member of OE Track and Field for four years. His events include: 800, 1600 and 3200m. Isaac is also a 4 year member of the cross country team and participated in German Club for 1 year. In the fall, Isaac will head to Wichita State University where he will study Aerospace Engineering and participate in Army ROTC. After graduation, he plans to serve in the Army and then pursue a career in the aerospace industry. Favorite memory: My 2nd 1600m race freshmen year because it was the first time I broke 6 minutes. Advice for underclassmen: "Get involved in school activities because you meet a lot of new people and make friends who enjoy similar things."

Kejuan Williams

Kejuan has been a member of the OE track and field team for two years. He also participates in football and basketball. After graduation, Kejuan will continue with track at MNU and hopes to start his own business one day. Favorite memory: When I jumped 21' for the first time. Advice to underclassmen: "Stay true to yourself and put in the work now because it pays off later."
