Besides track, Ryan is a 4 year member of OEXC and also participated in FCA. In the fall, Ryan plans to attend K-State where he will study Computer Engineering and will also join a running club. Favorite memory: My favorite memory is definitely Junior year state track meet. It was raining all-day the first day so they moved every single event to one day which was Saturday. We had already started Summer Break so we were already really excited. Since it was raining we were all in our hotel rooms playing Brawlhala on the Xbox and we were just having a great time. Once we finally started running it was awesome running at the state track meet in Wichita in front of everyone and even on tv. After the race and we were lucky enough to ride back on the charter bus before the meet ended around 1 am. The bus ride back was fun because we were all reminiscing on the season. The whole trip was incredible. Advice to underclassmen: To never give up. Even if you think you’re not the best, you can improve and get better. I was nowhere near where I am today when I was a freshman and sophomore. Putting in the work will always lead to improvement. For the juniors becoming seniors, be a leader. The underclassmen look up to you and if you’re working hard in practice and taking meets seriously, then they’ll follow in your footsteps. Hard work pays off.
